Hugglescote Surgery has issued a warning of disruption to its normal services due to staff shortages caused by those having to go into isolation.

The surgery says it is working hard to find a solution to the problems caused as a result.

And it explained the situation to patients on its Facebook page today (Friday).

The post reads: "Please be aware we have a number of staff absent due to isolation.

"As a result of this there will be disruption to our normal services.

"You may experience difficulty when trying to telephone the surgery.

"We apologise in advance and understand this will may cause anxiety and frustration.

"We are actively liaising with Public Health England and West Leicestershire Clinical Commissioning Group regarding the necessary steps we need to take.

"The whole team are working together the best we can to try and find solutions to the current situation.

"If your call is of a non-urgent nature, where possible, please try to avoid calling the surgery so we can concentrate on urgent clinically necessary work.

"If you do need to make contact please be kind as our team are facing extremely challenging and unprecedented circumstances.

"We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your support and cooperation at this difficult time."
