Coronavirus: District Council To Reintroduce Important Waste Collection From Next Week In Coalville

By Graham Hill 24th Apr 2020

North West Leicestershire District Council is bringing back garden waste collections to the Coalville area from next week.

They had been suspended during the Coronavirus lockdown along with cardboard collections.

That was due to staff shortages, but the Council now says they have enough numbers to be able to re-introduce this service.

It can provide a monthly garden collection from April 28.

The Council posted on social media on Friday: "Great news - we've been able to redeploy and train enough staff to bring back a monthly garden waste collection.

"You'll receive your new collection dates by letter."

The Council has also provided the following information.

  • From Tuesday, April 28, garden waste collections will resume on a monthly basis
  • Cardboard collections continue to be suspended
  • Every household in the district will receive a letter advising you of upcoming collection dates
  • Those due to receive their waste collections next week, will receive their letters first with the rest following shortly after
  • Do not call North West Leicestershire District Council's customer services team to enquire about dates
  • Each letter is tailored to collections in your immediate locality so specific dates cannot be given over the phone
  • Each letter is accompanied by FAQs with further advice and info
