Coronavirus: Coalville Morrisons Has Its Say On Dancing Security Staff After Duo Become Internet Sensation

By Graham Hill 12th Apr 2020

Morrisons in Coalville say their dancing security staff are bringing some cheer to customers during the Coronavirus crisis.

Two of the supermarket's workforce have been captured on camera demonstrating their moves while people queue to get inside.

Their antics have made them internet sensations on social media - with songs such as YMCA and We Are The Cheeky Girls among their repertoire.

So Coalville Nub News asked the store what they thought of the duo - who have raised a laugh for shoppers having to wait outside with social distancing measures in place.

A Morrisons spokesman told us: "We know that this is a challenging time for our customers and many are having to wait and queue before shopping.

"We're just trying to cheer them up and make them smile while they're waiting."

The pair have been mentioned by customers on Twitter and here are just a few of the comments.

  • "Your two security guards at the Coalville are amazing, bringing entertainment with their dancing and music whilst queuing to get into store, bringing smiles to everyone."
  • "Coalville Store! The two security staff dancing to the Cheeky Girls is brilliant! They really do brighten up the day and should be praised for this :)"
  • "This is how they keep us entertained at Morrisons, you can't help but smile."

But if you want to see the guys in action - do not go today, all supermarkets are closed for Easter Sunday.

Morrisons in Coalville will be open again on Monday from 8am to 8pm before returning to normal hours again once the holiday weekend is over.

But the store has teamed up with Deliveroo to enable customers to order essential household items from its stores for on-demand delivery.

Household essentials can be delivered in as little as 30 minutes if you live within 2.5miles of a Morrisons store.
