The YMCA has won the Chairman's Choice in this year's North West Leicestershire District Council Best Dressed Window Christmas competition - with businesses in the town getting in the festive mood by creating fabulous window displays.

They were judged by NWLDC Chairman, Cllr Ray Morris, who presented the coveted Chairman's Choice trophy to the YMCA shop in the Belvoir Shopping Centre.

Both Sweet-T's Hair and Beautique received highly commended awards for their displays and were presented with a certificate and banner by the Chairman.

The people's choice voting is still open and you can vote online HERE or in person at the Customer Centre on Belvoir Road, Coalville.

There are still other competitions which you can enter including the new Coalville Illuminations competition.

Manager of Coalville's YMCA branch, Jo Luxton said: "We push so hard every single year to try and do the best window so to actually win…it's very emotional.

"I couldn't have done it without my YMCA family here".

Cllr Morris said: "I was truly amazed at the effort put in and the high standard of all the window displays that were entered this year.

"It was such a difficult decision to pick a winner out of such a magnificent array of windows but YMCA's was very impressive.

"I have made my decision, but the public vote is still open and I urge everyone to vote for their favourite.

"Well done to everybody who entered and I hope I can see just as many, if not more, entries next year".
