A plan to convert The Three Crowns in Whitwick to a smaller pub with four apartments, has been given the green light.
The scheme will involve the building of four one-bedroom apartments on the ground and first floors.
When the application was first made last year, the plan was to have six apartments as part of the new development.
Whitwick pub to downsize and provide flats aimed at first time buyers.
But the plans were re-submitted with four flats by the applicant - a Mr Alimohamed - last December.
The scheme has now been permitted with an officer's report saying: "The closest neighbouring properties that are likely to be impacted upon are those adjacent on Market Place and to the rear at Vicarage Street, Whitwick.
"The proposal is not considered to result in any detrimental noise and disturbance impacts on the neighbouring residential properties as the floorspace of the existing public house use would be reduced, with the area of the property for conversion would change to residential units which are considered to generate less noise and disturbance impacts than the existing use.
"The proposal includes the reduction in floorspace of the existing public house use through the introduction of a residential unit at ground floor.
"Whilst the floorspace of the public house use would be reduced, it would not result in the loss of the existing community facility and has been proposed to ensure the continued operation of the public house use and is therefore considered to be acceptable.
"Furthermore, it is worth noting that there are three other public houses in close proximity to the site and further alternative public houses are available in Whitwick. The site is located approximately 200m from the closest bus stop."
