Coalville CAN is holding a Fantastic Females event - with special guest launching the town centre exhibition

The Coalville CAN community group are staging a Fantastic Females Week - beginning tomorrow (Tuesday) and running until Saturday.

Century Theatre is the venue tomorrow (March 8) for Fantastic Females - Alive and Kicking!.

The event runs from 7pm - 10.30pm and will be an evening of music, poetry, film and song - all made by local women.

It is part of the International Women's Day Celebrations and run alongside the Quetzal charity.

You can connect and chat. Entrance is £3 and you can buy tickets HERE.

Organisers say the event is also open to all men as well.

On Wednesday (March 9) between 6pm - 8pm, there is a Coalville CAN Membership Launch at the group's offices in Memorial Square, LE67 3TU.

You can find out what Coalville CAN are about and have a tour round the building to see the plans for the ground and upper floors.

Cheese and wine is provided by Central England Co-op. Membership will be open - lifetime membership is £25 - for a vote and ownership. Plus free gift.

On Thursday (March 10) and Saturday (March 12): Get Creative at The Fantastic Females Exhibition 10-4pm at Coalville CAN in Memorial Square.

You can visit the Fantastic Females Exhibition, see who was nominated, created and why.

Organisers say you can bring yourselves and any crafts you do for a chat and share.

There will be a special guest at Thursday's launch with athlete Gemma Steel - Coalville's very own Fantastic Female and featured twice in the exhibition - officially opening the event.
