Coalville Town have launched a Just Giving Page to help the club get back on its feet ahead of the new season.

The Ravens resigned from the Southern League when chairman Glyn Rennocks announced last month that he was stepping back from the club.

But, in the 10 days that followed, Coalville officials worked hard to keep the club alive.

As a result, they will now play in the United Counties League next season - and have been reorganised as a community club.

But, in the meantime, they need to raise £5,000 for pre-season preparations with no significant gate money coming in until August.

To do this, the fundraiser has been asking for donations and there has been a strong response so far.

Club secretary Steve Cartwright wrote on the Just Giving page: "Weʼre raising £5,000 as Coalville Town have been reborn as a community club.

"In May, it was announced that Coalville had resigned from the Southern League.

"A group of supporters decided that they want to see men's senior football continue, so they dropped down several divisions to start again.

"To enable the club to function in the close season, when there is no gate revenue, we are asking supporters of Coalville Town, and the wider non-league community, to help us get going again as we prepare for our first season in the United Counties League Division One.

"Any help you can give will be hugely appreciated."

You can donate to the Ravens HERE.

• Coalville's opening United Counties League fixture will be on Sunday, July 28 at home to Southwell City, with a noon kick-off.
