Coalville's Long Lane Surgery has moved to reassure patients that text messages they receive about their vaccinations are not from scammers.

And they have stipulated the wording of the text so that you will know it is genuine.

Long Lane Surgery has posted a social media message on the subject.

It reads: "If you are in cohort 5 or 6 you will be receiving an invitation for your Covid vaccination from us soon.

"This may be by telephone or you may be invited via a text from Measham Leisure Centre Vaccination Hub to book your appointment directly.

We have had concerns that people might feel the text is a scam so for your information, the message reads:

"Dear....name.....

"You have been invited to book your COVID-19 vaccination at Measham Leisure Centre.

"Please click on the link to book your vaccination times.

"North West Leicestershire PCN.

"The link is only valid for the person named. No-one else will be able to use it."
