Coalville Police issued a warning to a motorist who performed a 'wheel spin' directly in front of officers.

The driver was told it was not a bit of 'harmless fun' and could have more serious consequences.

North West Leiestershire Police gave more details on their Facebook page last night (Friday), posting: "Must be a night for it tonight.

"A further section 59 notice issued tonight to a driver in Coalville who decided it would be a good idea to wheel spin his motor right in front of officers.

"In all seriousness, it might seem like a bit of harmless fun but it doesn't take much to hurt or seriously injure someone.

"Let's hope this warning saves some tears."

The incident followed a similar matter earlier in the day when Coalville officers acted on motor bike complaints.

North West Leicestershire Police posted: "Following numerous complaints about two off-road bikes being ridden in the Coalville area, both bikes have now been seized by officers and are now in the impound."
