Coalville police speak to 36 drivers for motoring offences in two day Fatal 4 operation across the district

North West Leicestershire Police reported or cautioned a total of 36 drivers for motoring offences in a planed two day operation in the district.

The planned operation was held across nine different locations in North West Leicestershire.

It was focused on the Fatal 4 offences of inappropriate speed; using a mobile phone while driving; not wearing a seatbelt; and drink driving.

But no drink drive offenders were included in the final tally.

North West Leicestershire Police posted the results and said: "Over the last two days, at over nine locations, officers from Coalville Police Station have taken part in a Fatal 4 operation.

"Over the course of the operation there were a total of 36 Traffic Offence Reports for motorists for either Speed/Seatbelt/Mobile Phone/ Licence Offences.

"One vehicle was seized for not having insurance, one had a vehicle defect rectification notice and over 20 warnings were issued.

"No drink driving offences were detected during this planned operation."
