North West Leicestershire Police have reported a spate of incidents in the Coalville area where people have caused damage on quad bikes or with 4X4 vehicles - with the culprits bragging about it online.

They say there were eight cases in one day on Monday - all in breach of Covid rules as well as being criminal acts in their own right.

PCSO Tony Gallagher posted details on the North West Leicestershire Facebook page and said: "Yesterday (January 25) we had eight locations where either bikes, quads or 4x4 vehicles were causing damage.

"These included Ravenstone, Farm Town, Coleorton, Heather, Normanton Woods, Battram, Ibstock , Millfield, Ellistown and several other areas.

"We have seen posts of the activity on social media with people bragging about it.

"COVID and lockdown will only increase if people chose to ignore the rules and not protect the NHS.
