A range of job prospects, apprenticeships, training and self-employment opportunities will be showcased by North West Leicestershire District Council.

A job and skills fair that went ahead virtually during the pandemic, is to return as a hybrid event to give job seekers the option to browse roles at home or in-person.

North West Leicestershire District Council (NWLDC) has teamed up with Leicester Employment Hub, Jobcentre Plus and the SMB College Group to showcase a range of job prospects as well as apprenticeships, training and self-employment opportunities.

The virtual event will return as a Job and Skills Fair from 10am tomorrow (September 27) to Monday, October 10, at midnight.

Job seekers can browse over 100 roles and opportunities for free from the comfort of their home, with the option to apply and contact employers directly.

Over 20 businesses have signed up to take part, including:

Aldi

DHL

North West Leicestershire District Council

Precious Care Homes

Ceva Logistics

EMH Group

Rushcliffe Care Group.

Opportunities will be available HERE.

But there will also be an in-person event.

Returning for the first time since 2019 due to the pandemic, it will be held on Tuesday, October 4, at Stephenson Campus in Coalville between 4-6pm.

The free event is open to people of all ages, whatever their employment status, allowing attendees to speak with recruiters face-to-face about their current employment goals.

Organisers say there is no need to sign up or book a place, and those interested can turn up on the day.

More than 30 local businesses will be on hand to discuss the opportunities available, including:

Aldi

Avon

Bosworth Homecare

East Midlands Airport

North West Leicestershire District Council

KP Snacks

Oaklands International Ltd

Shaw Trust

Amazon.

Councillor Tony Gillard, Portfolio Holder for Business at NWLDC, said: "It's great to see both new and returning businesses, of all sizes and varying opportunities, taking part in our job and skills fair this year.

"With help from our partners, we're back with a hybrid event to offer something for everyone, so we're hoping to support plenty of residents secure work or kick start a new challenge.

"If this sounds like you something you're keen to explore, either come along to our in-person event or browse the brilliant range of opportunities with the online platform at a time that's convenient for you."
