The NHS in Leicestershire is asking people to be prepared ahead of the Easter bank holiday weekend.
The Easter bank holiday weekend runs from 7 to 10 April and the NHS is encouraging people to know where they can get help for all their healthcare needs during this time when GP practices will be closed.
If people take regular prescription medication, they should make sure they have enough to last, and if they need more, they should request a repeat prescription immediately.
The 111 website can also be used for emergency repeat prescription guidance.
If urgent health advice is required, please contact NHS111 online www.111.nhs.uk or by phoning 111.
This service provides self-care advice on common ailments and, if necessary, they can arrange for you to see a nurse or doctor at a local urgent care service.
For all the relevant information in one place to support people to get the right care as quickly as possible when they are unwell or injured, visit the Get in the Know website HERE.
Additionally, local pharmacies are not only a place to collect prescribed medicines.
Pharmacists are qualified health professionals and are the right people to see for advice or over-the-counter medicines.
This year's Easter bank holiday opening times are available on the NHS England website HERE.
For mental health support, the Central Access Point (CAP), is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling 0116 295 3060 and 0808 800 3302.
At any time, on any day, in the event of any urgent, life-threatening medical need, people should call 999 for emergency assistance.
