Coalville MP Andrew Bridgen has confirmed he is self-isolating amid the spread of the Coronavirus bug.

Speaking from his home, Mr Bridgen told Press Association: "I have a cough and a cold but I am working via Skype and the telephone."

It is understood the Conservative MP made the decision after having lunch with health minister Nadine Dorries in the House of Commons last week, before she became the first MP to be diagnosed with coronavirus.

Now Mr Bridgen is awaiting a test.
