A Coalville man is due to appear at Chester Crown Court later this month after being charged with 'going equipped to steal and obstructing a constable'.

Rafal Pinkowski, 40, of Elm Court, is one of two men charged following a police stop check in Warrington last Monday (Jan 29).

A spokesperson for Cheshire Constabulary said: "Shortly after 10pm on Monday, officers stopped a blue Ford Focus on Manor Road, Lymm.

"Following a search of the car, the driver of the vehicle, Craig Chapman, and the passenger Rafal Pinkowski, were both arrested."

Chapman, 52, of Blackcarr Road, Greater Manchester, has since been charged with going equipped to steal, driving whilst disqualified and the use of a motor vehicle without insurance.

Pinkowski, 40, of Elm Court, Coalville, has been charged with going equipped to steal and obstructing a constable in the execution of duty.

Chapman appeared at Chester Magistrates' Court yesterday (Wednesday), where he was remanded in custody.

Pinkowski also appeared at Chester Crown Court on the same day, and has been released on bail.

Both men are next set to appear at Chester Crown Court on Wednesday, February 28.
