A 26-year-old man has been arrested following the execution a warrant in Avenue Road, Coalville, yesterday (Weds) as part of an ongoing police crackdown on drugs production and supply.

The warrant was executed under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act and more than 300 cannabis plants were recovered from the house in Avenue Road.

The man, who was present at the address when officers executed the warrant, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the production of cannabis.

He remains in custody and enquiries are continuing.

Sergeant Ryan Ludlam, deputy commander for the North West Leicestershire NPA, said: "Officers executed the warrant following information passed on to us.

"Across the force we have a zero-tolerance approach towards the production and supply of drugs.

"This latest warrant is part of a series we've recently executed in Coalville to crack down on the issue.

"We'll always listen to any concerns raised by our local communities and we're grateful to those people who have provided us with information."

If you have information about the production or supply of drugs, information can be given to police by calling 101.
