Coalville: Man arrested after car crashes into Thringstone house and pair leave scene of collision

A man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving after crashing his car into a house in Thringstone last night (Monday).

The incident happened at 10pm at a home in Ashby Road.

But the occupants of the car left the scene before police caught them near to the scene of the collision.

A spokesman for Leicestershire Police told Coalville Nub News: "Shortly before 10pm yesterday (Monday 21 February) a report was received that a car had collided with a house in Ashby Road, Thringstone.

"It was reported that the occupants had left the scene of the collision on foot.

"Two men were found by police nearby a short time later.

"A 32-year-old man from Loughborough was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.

"He has since been released under investigation and enquiries are continuing."
