A Coalville-based jobs fair - that returned in-person for the first time since the Covid pandemic - has been declared a success.

More than 70 job seekers attended the Job and Skills Fair at Stephenson Campus on Tuesday.

The event was organised by North West Leicestershire District Council (NWLDC) in partnership with the SMB College Group, Leicester Employment Hub and Jobcentre Plus.

Roles and development opportunities were showcased by 34 local employers, who were on hand to speak to prospective employees about their career aspirations.

All of those that attended the fair shared feedback that they would follow up with an opportunity that they found during the event.

Anyone that was not able to make the event can browse opportunities until Monday, October 10. HERE.

Councillor Tony Gillard, Portfolio Holder for Business at North West Leicestershire District Council, said: "It was great to meet local employers and discuss the job opportunities that are available across the district.

"We had a fantastic turnout from both job seekers and employers and wish them all luck in finding something or someone that's right for them.

"Once the jobs fair is done, we conduct a detailed evaluation to find out how the employers got on in their search, and we look forward to hearing the success stories in a few weeks' time."
