Coalville home to be turned into children's care facility - despite objections from nearby residents
Plans to turn a Coalville house into a children's care home have been given the go-ahead by North West Leicestershire District Council.
An application for a change of use at 7, Brooker Close, was submitted in February and attracted a number of objections from nearby residents.
Traffic problems, associated safety issues and the small size of the property were all highlighted to the council.
The applicant, Leicester-based SBPS Property Ltd, produced an amended plan last week, and planning permission was granted a week later.
But, a council officer's report says that the development will not be brought into use until three parking spaces shown on the new plans have been provided.
The report adds that, once provided, the onsite parking provision shall permanently be kept available for parking and shall not be obstructed at any time.
It says: "This is to ensure that adequate off-street parking provision is made to reduce the possibility of the proposed development leading to on-street problems locally in the interests of highway safety."
This was stated following a consultation with Leicester County Council Highways.
The report also says that the scheme will not come into use until a hard and soft landscaping scheme has first been submitted to and agreed in writing by the Local Planning Authority.
It adds: "This is to ensure satisfactory landscaping is provided within a reasonable period and in the interests of visual amenity."
