Coalville fire crew in attempt to rescue 'separated' stork spotted on Halfords roof

Coalville Fire Station has released details of an attempt to rescue a stray stork in the town.
A social media post explained how the bird was spotted in Coalville over a two day spell.
It had become separated from a group of storks on a free flight from Zoological Park in Wolverhampton.
But it seems as though the bird evaded the efforts of the fire crews.
The post explains: "On Wednesday, we attended an incident involving a White Stork that had become separated from its fellow storks during a free flight from a zoo in Wolverhampton
"The stork had been in the Coalville area for 48 hours, moving between various locations.
"Fire crews attempted to catch the bird on the roof of Halfords, with the help of its keepers and a bucket of chicks.
"However, it wasn't ready to be caught and moved on to higher, less accessible rooftops.
"The fire service takes every life seriously, both human and animal and we will always strive to help where possible.
"If you ever see a wild animal in distress, please call 999."
