Coalville Fire Crew Called To Traffic Collision Which Caused Late Night Road Closure

Coalville fire crew were called to a traffic collision which closed the road at the junction of Charley Road and Swannymote Road on Wednesday night.

The driver had to be released from the vehicle by emergency services.

The incident forced the road to be closed at the A512 Ashby Road West with Leicestershire Police and East Midlands Ambulance Service also attending.

One vehicle was involved and the driver was taken to hospital as a precaution.

A Leicestershire Police spokeswoman said: "The road was closed to allow the emergency services to respond at the scene and was reopened around 10.30pm."

Fire crews from Shepshed and Loughborough were also on the scene.

Leicestershire Fire & Rescue's website reported: "Fire Service, Police and Ambulance were all in attendance.

"Fire crews have stabilised the vehicle and have released casualty from vehicle.

"Casualty is now being assessed by East Midlands Ambulance Service".
