Coalville fire crew called out to help horse stuck in field near Bardon

Coalville Fire Crew were called out this afternoon (Wednesday) to try and free a horse that had become stuck and unable to move.

The animal was in distress on land at Bardon House off the A511.

The alarm was raised just after 4.10pm and the Coalville crew were supported by Technical Rescue.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Fire and Rescue said: "Initial call received to a horse stuck in a rut in a field.

"Upon arrival one large horse was on its side and unable to stand."

The fire service is due to provide an update later.
