Get ready for a full day of music, fun and community spirit as Coalville Entertains brings Marlborough Square to life next month.

Running from 10am to 7pm, on Saturday, May 17, this free, family-friendly event will showcase local performers, street entertainment, storytelling, food, trails – and a unique karaoke competition.

The event, delivered by Coalville CAN in collaboration with a range of local partners and supported by North West Leicestershire District Council, is all about celebrating the creative energy and hidden talents within the town.

The town's market will be running as well until 4pm. There will be indoor and outdoor Stalls with something for everyone.

One of the day's highlights is the Karaoke Competition, featuring some of Coalville's best-loved businesses and community groups stepping up for a friendly sing-off.

Competitors so far include Shooters, The Snibston Inn, Palace Bingo, Enrych and The Engineers Arms.

A trophy is up for grabs – but judges are also needed. If you would like to help crown Coalville's karaoke champion, please get in touch with Coalville CAN.

Local community stars are also wanted to take the stage. Whether you love singing, storytelling or just want to have a go – this is your chance.

Alongside the karaoke, you will be abnle to enjoy live music, DJs from Coalville Public Radio - who will also be live-streaming the event - plus Northern Soul and Motown dancing on the Square with support from Tiffany's, the Ibstock Soul Club, the Emporium and friendly dancers who will be on hand to show newcomers how it is done.

Look out for food and drink, creative trails and family activities – all in the heart of Coalville.
