CrossFit Coalville's head coach says that the venue's 'positive energy' has risen above yet another year of difficulties for everyone.

Social conditions have meant that families have been divided, celebrations put on hold and the general normality of life shaken to the core - 2021 has taken its toll on us all in some form or another.

But CrossFit Coalville organisers say this is not reflected at its Brunel Way venue based at the Stephenson Industrial Estate.

Head Coach, Jake Garner talks about how he has viewed the past 12 months.

He said: "It's important in times like these to focus on the positives, because no matter how tough life gets and what it throws at you, we can always find something good if we look hard enough.

"Here at CrossFit Coalville, in the midst of controversy and illness, I have seen some of the best progress I've ever seen as both a personal trainer and CrossFit Coach."

As the membership of the Coalville CrossFit 'box' increases, the community has grown even stronger.

Health is continually at the forefront of news headlines and it would appear there has never been a better time than now to get involved with fitness.

CrossFit Coalville owner, Craig Smith, says there has been plenty of support that the community of the box has given each other through the course of 2021.

Craig said: "We always put our members' needs first.

"It doesn't matter if you've never entered a gym or have a vast wealth of experience.

"What matters is that our local residents are coming together to better their health.

"It's clear to see that it isn't just the coaches that are offering support to our members, but the members themselves too.

"This has really helped to strengthen our community and bring people together during the pandemic."

The physical performance and skillset of all CrossFit Coalville members seems to have reached astounding levels and continues to improve.

Jake explained: "In my experience as a fitness professional, I have seen hundreds of people better their lives through health and fitness.

"Since taking on the role of head coach at CrossFit Coalville, I've witnessed some of the best improvements to personal strength and fitness I have ever seen.

"People who couldn't run now safely have a 5k under their belts.

"There isn't a single member in our box who hasn't made strength gains in each one of their lifts, and everyone's general knowledge of the body and how it works has reached new heights.

"This, in turn, allows all our members to exercise properly and safely, both inside and outside of the box.

"In a time of such uncertainty, it's good to see that some communities are still thriving and pushing to make the best of a troublesome and tiring time.

"The team at CrossFit Coalville are more than ready for 2022 and the challenges it might bring with it."
