Plans to build 14 houses in Heather on the site of a self storage facility in the village have been given the green light.
North West Leicestershire District Council has granted planning permission for the development between Mill Lane and Pisca Lane - on the former site of MTS Logistics.
This would involve demolishing the current buildings to make way for the development which was originally granted planning permission five years ago.
The site has been used as a chemical works and a railway station in the past.
A council officers' report reads: "This planning application seeks permission to demolish the existing buildings on the site and erect 14 dwellings.
"It is proposed that the mix would comprise 10 four bedroom detached dwellings and four affordable properties.
"The affordable properties would be provided in a terraced block consisting of three two bed properties and one single bed property.
"Vehicular access into the site would be achieved via the existing access off Mill Lane.
"It is considered that the loss of the employment land, in this instance, has been demonstrated to be acceptable given the improvements which would be required in relation to the vehicular access onto Mill Lane and built forms on the site so as to meet modern businesses and the implications this may have to landscaping, residential amenity and the setting of a heritage asset."
