Coalville community figure Kirat Sandhu has highlighted the effects of domestic abuse on family life in the aftermath of England's Euro 2024 football final defeat this month.
While he recognises that the town came together for the match - which saw England lose 2-1 to Spain - he says there is also another side to the story.
Kirat says Leicestershire organisation Living Without Abuse is available to help anyone who contacts them.
He said: "What an incredible final - our small local town came alive with spirit, as people from all walks of life came together to celebrate as one.
"Local businesses were thriving, unfortunately, it was not the result we wanted on the pitch though.
"This is what community is all about – supporting each other and sharing in the highs and lows.
"Let's carry this unity forward.
"But if you're struggling with difficult emotions, please don't take them home.
"Remember, if you or someone you know is experiencing domestic abuse, help is available.
"Please call 0808 2000 247 or reach out to the incredible organisation, Living Without Abuse.
"Together, we can create a safe and supportive environment for everyone."
Last month, Women's Aid launched the newest instalment of its award-winning 'He's Coming Home' campaign.
Coinciding with this summer's Euros, it aims to shine a light on the darker side of major football championships, which may have led to an increase in domestic abuse.
Women's Aid says that, while football does not cause domestic abuse, existing abuse can intensify around tournaments like the Euros.
Research by Lancaster University showed cases of domestic abuse increased by 38 per cent when England lost a match and 26 per cent when they won or drew.
