A local graphic design student has created a poster depicting Coalville's key landmarks and a signpost showcasing what the area has to offer.

Chloe Almeida , 21, has worked in collaboration with Coalville CAN - which describes the poster as 'more than just a piece of art – it's a catalyst for community pride'.

Chloe's artwork has been shared on social media and the response has been positive, with comments suggesting what spaces could be added.

From that, a series of themed artworks each highlighting different aspects of Coalville - such as its green spaces, independent shops, places to eat and drink - is being considered.

Deana Bamford, a member Coalville CAN, shared her enthusiasm and said: "I think it's absolutely brilliant.

"We started by looking at the famous 'Skegness is so bracing' postcard—an iconic image known by many.

"The challenge was to create something equally memorable for Coalville.

"It encourages people to explore the town, captures important features without them taking over and even incudes the number 29 bus, important for so many.

"I wonder if there are any graphic design and printing businesses that might want to offer their expertise to support Chloe to take this further?."

Chloe, from Ibstock, says she has enjoyed creating the poster and already had people inviting her to do something similar for Ibstock.

Her university tutor says she can also use it as part of her portfolio.

Chloe said: "It's really opened my eyes as to what's going on locally and makes me proud to be positively promoting the area"

Coalville CAN members say that, too often, people focus on the negatives, overlooking the unique charm and potential of the area.

Deana added: "This project is more than just an art venture—it's a call to action. It encourages local residents to see their town through fresh eyes, to celebrate its strengths, and to contribute to its future."
