A Coalville community group is launching a share offer so that it can buy its own town centre offices.

Coalville CAN's building in Memorial Square is now up for sale, say the group's organisers.

Deana Bamford, of Coalville CAN, posted on social media to say funds need to be raised by October to buy the property.

To try and do this, Coalville CAN has announced a share offer which opens on July 31.

The group wants to buy the building so that it can continue its work within the Coalville community and stay in the town for years to come.

Deana's post reads: "For those that know me, you'll know how hard I (and others) have worked to create what has become CAN HQ, the heart of Coalville CAN's operations.

"Well, now CAN HQ is for sale. We have until October this year to buy it.

"Our aim is to purchase this property (freehold) and to continue to work alongside local people to develop the activities it offers and ensure a stable and permanent home in Coalville in perpetuity.

"Plans include developing other projects from this base and helping to secure other buildings in the future.

"First, I'm asking for your help to secure CAN HQ by investing in the future!

"We have created the opportunity for people, businesses, organisations, schools or families to invest through a Community Share Offer.

"All investors become owners and members of Coalville CAN, and all get one vote, irrespective of the investment. The Share Offer officially opens on July 31.

"To provide more information and answer any questions, we are hosting an Investor Evening. This event will give you the chance to:

• Learn more about Coalville CAN

• Understand the details of the share offer

• Ask any questions you may have

• Tour CAN HQ and see the space first-hand."

The event will be held on Wednesday, July 17, at 6pm, at Coalville's CAN's Memorial Square offices.
