Employers in the Coalville area can advertise vacancies for free at a hybrid job fair this autumn.

North West Leicestershire District Council (NWLDC) is encouraging recruiting businesses across the district to take part in a job and skills fair starting in September.

The event will return in two formats to give employers the opportunity to advertise their roles and speak to job seekers both in-person or virtually.

Taking place at Stephenson Campus, in Thornborough Road, Coalville the in-person event will be held on Tuesday, October 4, while the virtual job and skills fair will run from Tuesday, September 27 to Monday, October 10.

The last in-person event took place in 2019, being cancelled in recent years due the pandemic, and attracted over 120 job seekers.

The virtual events took place in 2020 and 2021 and each had over 230 attendees.

The council is working with the Department for Work and Pensions, Leicester Employment Hub, Job Centre Plus and the SMB College Group, to attract a wide range of opportunities from across a range of sectors. Opportunities showcased will include:

• Full / part-time work

• Permanent / temporary positions

• Self-employed opportunities

• Apprenticeships

• Training courses.

Businesses can register to take part in the in-person event by emailing at [email protected] and can sign up for the virtual event HERE.

The deadline for both is Friday, September 16.

Councillor Tony Gillard, Portfolio Holder for Business, said: "Our job fairs are always very popular thanks to our wide range of opportunities from local employers.

"The last in-person event was held in October 2019 due to the pandemic and employers were keen for it to return while still giving job seekers the option to browse jobs at their leisure.

"We hope to attract as many companies as possible and would recommend signing up now to advertise your business and vacancies for free."
