Coalville Amazon team put their football skills to the test after making donation to local project dealing with mental health
Team members from the Amazon fulfilment centre in Coalville took part in a six-a-side football tournament for Leicestershire Action for Mental Health Project (LAMP) following a donation of £1,000.
(LAMP) provides free to access independent community mental health advocacy to people living in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, including support to carers.
The charity supports individuals struggling to access mental health services and empowers them to speak up about the care they're receiving throughout their recovery journey.
Two teams from Amazon joined other businesses in Leicestershire at LAMP's football tournament, which was organised to raise awareness of mental health advocacy in the community.
Tracey Foster, General Manager at Amazon in Coalville, said: "The football tournament was a great way to promote Lamp and boost awareness of its services. Our teams had great fun for a fantastic cause."
Matt Barton at LAMP added: "I'd like to say thank you to the team at Amazon in Coalville for their participation in our event and for their previous donation.
"I hope the tournament encouraged people to talk and have more conversations around mental health on and off the pitch.
"I just want to emphasise that if someone is struggling, reach out."
LAMP received the donation as part of Amazon's programme to support communities in and around its operating locations throughout the UK.
In addition to supporting Lamp, Amazon is providing disadvantaged students with online STEM courses as well as teaming up with charity partner Magic Breakfast and delivering more than six million healthy breakfasts to families across England.
