An extended virtual jobs fair is returning to North West Leicestershire from next Tuesday (October 5).

North West Leicestershire District Council (NWLDC), Jobcentre Plus and the SMB College Group have organised a third virtual jobs fair - this time taking place over two weeks instead of one - to showcase a range of job opportunities across the district.

More than 35 local employers will be taking part advertising their vacancies for 14 days whilst job seekers can explore the roles available and interact with potential employers.

Following the success of the previous virtual job fairs in October 2020 and April earlier this year, the event will return in an online format. Companies taking part, include:

The online event will open at 10am on Tuesday and close at midnight on Monday, October 18, with visitors able to explore the site at their leisure.

The fair will use the Leicester Employment Hub website and can be found HERE.

Local companies, both small and large, can still take part in the jobs fair by emailing an image of their business and web link to their vacancies to [email protected]

Councillor Tony Gillard, Portfolio Holder for Business at NWLDC, said: "The Virtual Jobs Fair is a great opportunity to match employers with job seekers all in one easy-to-find place.

"We want to help keep local people in employment as much as we want to see local businesses thrive so it's important that we make job vacancies as accessible as possible.

"If you're looking for work or a new opportunity, take a look at the vacancies available from Tuesday 5 October and help friends and family by sharing the link with them too."

Lisa Craddock, Vice Principal Business Development at the SMB College Group, said: "We're very excited to be involved with the Virtual Jobs Fair again – it's a great opportunity for us to spread the word about our Apprenticeships and internal job vacancies to those based in the area."

Emma Kendrick, Employment Development Adviser at Coalville's Jobcentre Plus, said: "This will be our third annual virtual jobs fair during the pandemic that we have held in partnership with North West Leicestershire District Council, the SMB College Group and the Leicester Employment Hub.

"Due to our past events successes and the feedback we have received from both employers and job seekers, we felt it was necessary to continue in an online format due to COVID-19."

Tracey Waterfield, Employment Hub Manager at Leicester Employment Hub, added: "The Leicester Employment Hub is delighted to be able to work with North West Leicestershire District Council and partners once again to create another fabulous online jobs fair.

"The number of employers offering opportunities is greater than ever due to the success of previous online events with applicants benefitting from 'round the clock' access to the information."
