Clarks shoe shop in Coalville is to close later this year.

The company confirmed to Coalville Nub News today (Fri) that five members of staff will be made redundant when the store at Belvoir Retail & Leisure Quarter shuts permanently.

But it did not reveal the closing date.

The Clarks UK franchise business owner told Coalville Nub News: "Our Clarks franchise store at New Broadway in Coalville will close later this year.

"As a committed partner of the Clarks brand we, and other franchise partners, work with Clarks to continually review all Clarks stores to ensure that they are the right size and located in the right areas in order to provide the best possible offering and environment on the high street to its customers."

When asked about the future of staff currently employed at the shop, a Clarks spokesman said: "I can confirm that five members of staff will be made redundant at this store."
