The Castle Rock School plan to give students lateral flow tests on designated days this week as they prepare for to return to the classroom.
The Coalville school welcomes pupils back on Monday (March 8) along with the rest of the country.
And the school, run by the Apollo Partnership Trust, has given details about how the week will unfold in a letter to parents.
It makes it clear that a 'large number of pupils' will need to be tested before regular teaching can resume.
A letter to parents reads: "The staff at The Castle Rock School are greatly looking forward to welcoming your children back to face-to-face learning. Thank you for completing the consent forms regarding lateral flow device (LFD) tests.
"Parents have overwhelmingly given consent, which means we have a large number of our students to test before we can resume teaching with each year group.
"I'm delighted that you have agreed in such large numbers; this is one step in a range of important measures to keep everyone as safe as possible.
"In general, students will have a lateral flow test on a designated day next week and then return home that day, resuming their normal timetable the following day.
"This will give us time to notify any parents where there is a positive test result.
"Student contact is also minimised, and face-to-face teaching resumed as quickly as possible."
