Local home care company, Home Instead Charnwood, Loughborough and Coalville, is warming hearts this Christmas with its annual 'Be a Santa' gift giving campaign.

Many older people spend Christmas alone, and often end up missing out on the festivities that so many of us get to enjoy.

In a bid to combat loneliness whilst spreading Christmas joy, Home Instead is calling on locals to 'Be a Santa' and donate gifts which will be distributed to ageing adults across Charnwood, Loughborough and Coalville this Christmas.

Since launching the campaign in 2018, the home care company has collected and donated hundreds of gifts, with an amazing 65 gifts received last year which were donated to recipients across the area.

From winter warmers and toiletries to sweet treats and chocolates, any gift will put a smile on someone's face during the holiday season.

If you would like to get involved in the heartwarming campaign, you can do so by dropping off a present at the Home Instead Charnwood, Loughborough and Coalville office situated at 54 Church Gate, Loughborough LE11 1UE. The team will also be at Morrisons Loughborough on the 21st December from 10am until 1pm.

Gifts can be donated up until the cut off date of Thursday 21st December, after which they will be wrapped and delivered by the team at Home Instead Charnwood, Loughborough and Coalville.

Commenting on the festive initiative, owner of Home Instead Charnwood, Loughborough and Coalville, Charlotte Johnson, said, "Christmas can be a challenging period for many older people who experience loneliness and isolation.

"This is our fifth year doing the 'Be a Santa' campaign and it's rewarding to know we are making the festive period that little bit brighter for members of the community who will benefit from some love this Christmas. Please get involved if you can, your support really will make a difference."
