Boy hospitalised after attack by group of teenagers in Coalville town centre precinct
Three teenagers - one aged just 13 - have been arrested following an assault on another boy in Coalville last Friday.
It happened in Belvoir Shopping Centre in the middle of the afternoon - and the victim had to be taken to hospital to treat facial injuries.
Police are now appealing for more information about the incident.
A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: "Police are investigating following a report of assault on a teenage boy in Coalville.
"The incident happened around 3.30pm on Friday 30 December in the Belvoir Shopping Centre.
"It is believed the boy was with a group of friends when he was approached by a small group of boys who hit him – causing injury to his nose and one of his eyes.
"He was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.
"Following enquiries, three boys, one aged 13 and two aged 15, were arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm (ABH).
"They have been bailed while officers continue to investigate.

The incident was reported on social media with a photo of the boy who was attacked.
It is believed the altercation took place close to the Poundland shop.
Because of the ages of the people involved, no-one can be named for legal reasons.
