Line of Duty actor Stephen Graham caught a group of litter pickers red-handed - with more than 50 bags of rubbish.

The Ibstock-based star of film and TV joined in with Ronald's Rangers yesterday as they collected litter on the A511 between Ashby and Coalville.

The Rangers are part of a McDonald's initiative to try and clean up the area which is led by Sarah McLean who has 21 franchises across the Midlands..

This year, McDonald's has set up the Rangers as a community project. It is designed to help local communities with litter picking, nature conservation and anything else that can help in the area.

A McDonald's spokesman said: "On August 2, we held a litter pick in the surrounding areas of Ashby and Coalville.

"We collected 53 bags of litter. Stephen Graham came down on the day to support us and to learn a bit more about what we do.

"Stephen was amazed by the sheer volume of litter that can be collected in just a few hours' work.

"He was a true gentleman and stayed with us as we explained the ethos behind what we do.

"He is a local man and he found the day and experience to be truly fantastic."
