A Coalville home was targeted by police on Friday after a man was hospitalised following an incident in Bagworth.

Two men were arrested as a result of a man being found injured in Barlestone Road, Bagworth, on Thursday.

Police moved in on a house in Ashby Road, Coalville, on Friday evening.

Witnesses say officers were armed but Leicestershire Police have not confirmed this.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: "Police were called at 9.20pm on Thursday (29 April) by East Midlands Ambulance Service to a report of a man found injured in Barlestone Road, Bagworth.

"The man was taken to hospital for treatment where he remains.

"As part of the investigation officers carried out enquiries at the scene and also at an address in Ashby Road, Coalville.

"Two men, 42 and 22, arrested in connection with the incident have since been bailed."

It is understood the searches at the Coalville address started on Friday and have now concluded.

Witnesses say the Ashby Road property was guarded by police with forensics and police dogs at the scene during Saturday.
