Police Appeal: Coalville Hit And Run Leaves Man With 'Life Changing Injuries' After Collision and Assault

A 33-year-old man has been left with 'life-changing injuries' following a hit and run incident in Coalville on Monday afternoon.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to a non-stop collision.

A grey Vauxhall Astra struck the man in Belvoir Road just before 1.45pm.

It then left the scene.

Police say the injured man has life-changing injuries and is currently in hospital receiving treatment.

Enquiries so far have established that the man was also assaulted.

There are a number of enquiries being carried out in the area of the collision, and police remain in the area and will be throughout this evening.

Forensics were stlll on the scene at 6pm on Monday evening.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the events which led up to it. Leicestershire Police Appeal

Detective Inspector Tim Lindley said: "Our enquiries are in their early stages at the moment, and we are piecing together what happened in Belvoir Road this afternoon.

"Anyone who was in the area and saw what happened, it's key that you speak to us. Every little bit of information may prove vital in finding out the course of events which lead to the collision.

"There were a number of cars on the road, so if anyone has dashcam footage of the area, we'd like to hear from you."
