One person trapped after Coleorton car crash: Emergency services called to the scene

One person was trapped in their vehicle after a collision Coleorton this morning (Tuesday).

Two fire crews and the ambulance service were called to the incident which happened just after 9am at the junction of New Road and Loughborough Road and involved two vehicles.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service gave more details on their website and said: "Call received from East Midlands Ambulance Service to a road traffic collision they had received a call to, with person still trapped in the vehicle.

"Upon arrival, crews confirmed one person trapped.

"Incident commander was liaising with the Police and Ambulance service to formulate a plan of action."

A Leicestershire Police spokesman said later: "We were called by the East Midlands Ambulance Service to a report of a collision in Loughborough Road, Coleorton just before 9am today (Tuesday 23 February).

"It was reported to have involved two vehicles.

"Officers attended, along with colleagues from Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service and it was found no-one had suffered injuries that are life-threatening or life-changing."

Police confirmed that the road was fully re-opened just after 11am.
