Senior Planning Officer (maternity leave cover)
We are looking for an experienced Senior Planning Officer as maternity leave cover to support our busy Planning and Development Team. The successful candidate must have demonstrable experience of dealing with complex and problematic planning applications and giving detailed pre-application advice to customers along with experience of Planning Appeals and presenting and defending your recommendations to the Planning Committee.
The District of North West Leicestershire is mainly rural in character with the southern part of the district being in the National Forest, yet it also has pressures from development in its main urban areas due to locations close to East Midlands Airport and the strategic highways network. We are looking for someone with previous Local Authority planning experience who holds a recognised planning qualification (or sufficient demonstrable experience) and is either a member of or working towards membership or be eligible for membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
· 36.25 hrs per week with a starting annual salary of £39,152 (pay award pending)
