Senior Council Tax Officer – maternity leave cover, temporary contract; initially for 6 months with possible extension to a maximum of 12 months, dependent on the return of the postholder
We are looking for temporary cover within the Council Tax Team of the Leicestershire Revenues and Benefits Partnership. The Partnership is made up of the revenues and benefits departments from Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council, North West Leicestershire District Council and Harborough District Council.
The successful candidate must have an in-depth understanding of council tax legislation and its administration processes.
The role performs several key activities to ensure effective billing and debt recovery for council tax and housing benefit overpayments and much more.
You must be able to work quickly and efficiently whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy, be able to use a range of IT software systems including Microsoft Office suite or equivalent. You must also be able to work in a paperless office, have a flexible approach to your work and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• 36.25hrs per week with an annual salary, depending on experience, of £31,586 to £35,235 (pro rata to length of contract)
