- Support the implementation and management of information governance frameworks and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies, particularly in the context of financial data.
- Assist in the processing of Freedom of Information requests and ensure timely and accurate responses.
- Collaborate with various departments within the council to promote best practices in information management and data protection.
- Maintain and update records to ensure data integrity and security, adhering to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure ongoing compliance with information governance standards.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on information governance policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in Information Management and Freedom of Information.
- Understanding of the role of Local Government and the environment in which it operates.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills with excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in networking, negotiation, and influencing, with ambassadorial skills to effectively represent the council.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data protection standards.
