Oaks Spring Fair 2026
The Oaks Spring Fair is a popular traditional country fair which takes place annually on the Spring Bank Holiday Monday. This year it is on Monday 25th May and is open from 10am to 3pm. The fair is based in Oaks in Charnwood LE12 9YD which is a small village nestled between Coalville and Shepshed and surrounded by the hills of the Charnwood Forest.
The fair has a wide range of attractions for all the family and is competitively priced at £5 per head for adults and under 12s go free. There is free parking in the adjacent field.
You can spend the day browsing around a variety of retail stalls selling locally produced crafts or you can enjoy eating out at one of the food outlets and have a drink at the licensed bar.
In the morning you will be entertained by the Bakanalia Border Morris Dancers and the Anstey Royale Chalfont Morris Dancers.
In the main arena there are a variety of entertainments including some farmyard frolics, the popular Dog Show at 12.00, and some great live music in the afternoon from Kieran Sutcliffe and Ray Hatfield.
There is also a living history experience from the Danelaw Vikings who will be displaying medieval crafts, games and a combat demonstration.
Or you can take the kids round the fairground and have a look round the vintage car display and the agricultural machinery on display.
Also don't forget to take advantage of the beautiful church of St James the Greater with its historic links to the battle of Waterloo.
The whole event is organised by volunteers in support of the local church and represents everything that is good about country fairs. What better way to spend your bank holiday Monday in this most beautiful corner of Leicestershire.
