Investigations are due to begin today to discover the cause of a large fire at Biffa Waste Services in Snibston Drive in Coalville on Tuesday night.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Services says that after an inspection of the scene the fire was believed to be accidental, sparked by an electrical fault.

Schools in and around the Coalville and Ibstock area are to get a second camera car which will patrol outside the gates in a bid to prosecute parents who park illegally during drop off and pick up times. 

Castle Rock High School, Broom Leys School, Griffydam Primary School, Heather Primary School, Ibstock Junior School, Hugglescote Community Primary School, New Swannington Primary School, St Denys Church Of England Infant School, Ibstock St Margaret's Church Of England Primary School, Whitwick St John The Baptist Church of England Primary School and Worthington School have all been earmarked.

Coalville Neighbourhood Policing Area has been nominated in the inaugural Safer Community Celebration Awards for Leicestershire Devoted public safety heroes are set to become the toast of the county next week at the new police awards event.
