Woman reported to have been victim of 'serious sexual assault' near Coalville town centre
A woman was subjected to a reported 'serious sexual assault' near Coalville town centre.
Officers cordoned off a section of the area close to Bridge Road following the incident.
Leicestershire Police say the reported assault took place on the night of Friday, September 6.
For the moment, officers are investigating the incident to find out more details - and it is at 'an early stage'.
A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: "Police are investigating a report of a serious sexual assault in Coalville.
"It was reported that a woman was subjected to a serious sexual assault overnight on Friday, 6 September, in the Bridge Road area.
"Our investigation remains at an early stage as our enquiries continue.
