Woman Dies After Three-Vehicle Collision on A511 Near Ravenstone: Police Appeal For Information

A woman died after a collision on the A511 Swannington Road, Ravenstone on Wednesday afternoon.

Leicestershire Police reported that officers were called at 12.19pm to the incident involving a bin lorry and two cars – a Ford Ranger and a Ford Focus.

East Midlands Ambulance Service and Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance.

A woman in her 70s, who was driving the Ford Focus car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Others involved in the incident were reported to have suffered minor injuries.

Road closures had been in place while emergency services attended the scene and police say enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

Detective Constable Kasie Carter said: "We are carrying out full enquiries to establish how this incident has happened and are appealing to anyone with any information to make contact.

"Anyone who was in the area and who saw any of the vehicles beforehand or who witnessed the incident, and who has not already spoken with police, is urged to make contact with us.

"Similarly anyone who has any dashcam footage from the area at the time is urged to check this and to get in touch."
