Why you will see people dressed as food packaging in Coalville on Saturday

Members of Coalville Foodbank will be out in the area on Saturday dressed a huge food packages.

The reason? They are fundraising for a new warehouse for the Foodbank.

Coalville Foodbank is aiming to raise £60,000 towards the Foodbank warehouse costs, and then move onto raising money towards the community cafe area.

The Foodbank's project is:

· To create a new Foodbank Warehouse within our building in New Life Church

· Disabled access throughout the building

· To have an attractive, modern, usable building in the centre of town.

· A building that serves the purposes of the church and the community.

· A café area that is visible and accessible for use within our community groups.

Phase 1a - Disabled Access (funding already in and work starting June 2021)

· New disabled ramp and steps to the front of the building

· Platform lift to allow access upstairs

· Two new disabled toilets downstairs ground floor

Phase 1b - Ground floor Foodbank Warehouse and cafe area[.L]

(currently concentrating on funding for the warehouse)

  • Erection of a new warehouse for the foodbank

  • New open plan café area with small room for one to one meetings

  • New main doors, windows and render to the front of the building Downstairs

  • Kitchen servery, which can serve both the café and the rear hall for functions and community projects,

  • New efficient boiler and heating system to serve ground floor

  • 10.40am - 11am - Belvoir Shopping Centre
  • 11.20am - 12.05pm - Morrisons Coalville
  • 1.15pm - 1.45pm Tesco Ashby
  • 2.15pm - 2.30pm Thringstone Co-op
  • 3pm - Whitwick Co-op
