A tribute to a legendary band, a village theatre production and a poignant reminder of those who fought in a conflict 40 years ago, are all in the Coalville and Ibstock area this weekend.

Saturday (June 11) sees the Pink Floyd Tribute Band at The Palace in Ibstock.

The venue says this is a welcome return for this amazing band.

The award-winning Dark Side Of The Wall now have well over 20 years of live performances behind them.

The band's live show is a spectacular combination of expertly recreated Pink Floyd music mixed with projections, lasers and a light show befitting of one of rock music's most pioneering audio-visual bands.

Most importantly, the 'entertainment' factor is a massive part of each and every show they perform.

They're definitely not a band who simply stand on stage and play the music.

You can find out more about the gig HERE.

Still in Ibstock, Tomorrow (Friday) the Central Bar has Darrel Higham and the Enforcers playing live.

The venue promises a night of 1950s music, plus Rockin' DJ and a raffle.

Tickets cost £10 and more details can be found HERE.

Thringstone Pantomime and Drama Society presents the first of three nights of Beside the Sea tonight (Thursday),

The production is being staged at the Charles Booth Centre in Thringstone.

The venue describes it as the TPAD Summer Comedy Show and "it's a great laugh, so don't miss out".

More details are HERE.

The Clocktower in Coalville is the venue for the Whitwick British Legion's commemoration service to mark the end of the Falklands War 40 years ago.

It starts at 10.30am in Memorial Square with the Snibstone New Inn also marking the occasion afterwards.

You can read more about this occasion HERE.
