The 60s feature at two local venues this weekend.

Coalville's Century Theatre has the Hijacked Hollies on Saturday night.

This is a fantastic tribute show to one of the 60s and 70s' greatest bands - The Hollies!

With a distinctive vocal harmony sound, the Hollies hits have been a backdrop to people's lives over many decades.

The Hijacked Hollies aim to recreate that same feeling - playing a string of Hollies classic hits with a few more obscure favourites thrown in for good measure.

The Central Bar and Venue in Ibstock has Hey Beatles, playing live on Saturday.

Whether you're a die-hard fan looking to reminisce, or a new listener discovering the band's music for the first time, Hey Beatles are guaranteed to leave you singing and dancing to the Beatles' greatest hits.

Let them take you on a magical journey through the history of rock and roll!

Friday night is movie night with two films to choose from.

The Century Theatre is showing Priscilla.

When teenage Priscilla Beaulieu meets Elvis Presley at a party, the man who is already a meteoric rock 'n' roll superstar becomes someone entirely unexpected in private moments: a thrilling crush, an ally in loneliness and a vulnerable best friend.

More details are HERE.

Back in Ibstock, the The Palace Community Centre has its Classic Film Night.

On Friday, it will be The Graduate.

The iconic move stars Dustin Hoffman and Anne Bancroft.

The film tells the story of 21-year-old Benjamin Braddock, a recent college graduate with no well-defined aim in life who is seduced by an older married woman, Mrs. Robinson, but then falls for her daughter, Elaine.

Saturday and Sunday sees Open Osgathorpe.

Here, you will be able to amble around the open gardens that offer pleasure and interest for so many.

As well as the beauty of Osgathorpe and the gardens, this event features cream teas, a book sale, a cake stall, a licensed bar, a BBQ and more.

More details are HERE.

Tomorrow (Thursday), there is a Tiny Forest Discovery Day and Tai Chi at the Tiny Forest near to the Whitwick and Coalville Leisure Centre.

Come along and explore your local Tiny Forest. This is a FREE family-friendly event and everyone's welcome.

There are all day - science experiments and fun activities.

Explore local wildlife like butterflies, bees and bugs and meet people in your community.

More details are HERE.

In Donington le Heath, the 1620s House has a Fantastic Folklore Hunt.

Running from tomorrow (Thursday) until Sunday, Mrs Digby is trying to read her children a bedtime story, but the pages of her book have been scattered around the site.

Can you help her collect them all?

More details are HERE.
