Sunday is Mother's Day and the 1620s House in Donington le Heath has two special events lined up.

On Saturday, the visitor attraction has a Spring Posies Day.

Let your creativity bloom as you craft the perfect handmade gift for Mother's Day using materials from the house's garden.

This event is suitable for children of all ages, however, it is not recommended for under-threes.

That is followed on Sunday by a Mother's Day Afternoon Tea.

Let her know how much you appreciate them by treating them to a delightful afternoon tea in the beautiful setting of the House's barn.

Enjoy a selection of delicious sandwiches, cakes and scones, along with a choice of hot or cold soft drinks.

The Palace Community Centre in Ibstock has the Ashby Concert Band presents The Sounds of the Stage on Saturday night.

The Band will be performing a range of Broadway and West End favourites.

But the event is also raising funds for the Leicestershire and Rutland Blood Bikes, a totally volunteer-based charity supporting local health organisations in Leicestershire and Rutland as well as the local Air Ambulance.

They provide free out of hours movement of blood, blood samples, human milk and other medical supplies, all year round.

More details are HERE.

Still in Ibstock, The Palace's Movie Night is showing One Life on Friday.

This is the story of Sir Nicholas 'Nicky' Winton, a young London broker who, in the months leading up to World War II, rescued 669 predominantly Jewish children from the Nazis.

Starring Anthony Hopkins Helena Bonham Carter and Johnny Flynn.

More details are HERE.

There are two sets of tribute bands playing live on Saturday night.

The Victoria Bikers' Pub in Whitwick Road has two stunning tributes to the hard rock/heavy metal titans Ronnie James Dio and AC/DC.

Holy Diva and AC-D/She are on stage, with the music starting at 8.45pm.
